Sweltering Summer
It's a long, hot summer bleaching clothes and scorching skin. Leathery and soft worn boots are required for walks in spiky dry golden grass - Kangaroo grass, Spear grass, Windmill, Fairy and Wallaby grasses crackle and ripple in the smouldering sun. He plays cricket on Saturdays in vintage creams and you wear 1950s floral with novelty scarves. You grow aromatic tomatoes and bake cakes for long weekend picnics. On the hottest days you go to the dam in vintage stripy swimmers.
In love with Winter 2012
On the 1st of July 2012 Fanny's polished and rearranged the feature shelves with a gorgeous winter colour range including some 1980s enamelled earrings, fabulous leaf brooches, mustard tones, polished tan boots and a wonderful antique American puzzle. A number of rare lithographs are also stocked at Fanny's Flat.
Autumn 2012After the first Art of Elegance Fair in February 2012 Fanny's started to settle in to the freshly painted space and the ply fountain was installed.
In Autumn 2012 the second Art of Elegance Fair was held in Maryborough Town Hall and Fanny's Flat's space was themed Breakfast at Tiffany's with some lines from that perky script strewn over the department-store-like space. The lighting on the evening before the fair was just like a store window from another time. |
Summer 2011-12In the summer of 2011-12 Fanny's Flat was temporarily moved in order to make some repairs to the Victorian Goldrush building and repaint the boutique. The walls were repainted, the entry door painted and decorated, new awning installed, pot planters painted and lots of airing and rearranging. During the same summer Fanny's was in preparation for the Art of Elegance Fair.
